Wildcats in Fifth at Big 12 Championship
Texas A&M holds the team lead after the first day carding a 300 (+12).
"I am proud of the way the team played today," said head coach Kristi Knight."There were windy tough conditions but all in all we did pretty well. We need to finish our round stronger tomorrow. They really competed well and had good attitudes all day today."
The Wildcats had two players finish in the top-10 after the first round. Junior Michelle Regan carded a 75 (+3) to finish tied for fifth. Senior Katy Heffel is having another strong Big 12 Championship, Heffel shot a 76(+4), tying her for 10th.
Other Wildcats in the field include freshman Abbi Sunner, who in her first Big 12 Championship carded an opening day 78 (+6), tying for 22nd. Senior Helene Robert shot an opening round 80 (+8) to finish tied for 37th. Junior Hailey Mireles scored a 84 (+12) to tie for 55th.
