MANHATTAN, Kan.--The Kansas State women's golf team will travel to Oxford, Miss., this Friday through Sunday, April 6-8, to compete in the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate.
The tournament will consist of 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a shotgun start each day.
"This is a new event on our schedule and the ladies are looking forward to it," head coach Kristi Knight said. "I am proud of how our ladies have competed this spring, and this will be a good challenge for us."
Kansas State will send the scoring lineup of Carly Ragains, Ami Storey, Whitney Pyle, Gianna Misenhelter and Hanna Roos, which marks the second straight event the Wildcats have used this lineup, as the lineup finished sixth at the Mountain View Collegiate. Also, Kristen Dorsey will be competing as an individual.
Ragains is looking to continue her successful start to the season as she led the Wildcats with a 12th place finish at the Mountain View Collegiate. The freshman earned a career best 54-hole score of 1-over par 217, recording an 18-shot improvement from her first appearance at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational in September.
Storey will also look to build on her successful finish at the Mountain View Collegiate, as she finished two strokes behind Ragains. The senior currently has a stroke average of 76.86.
Misenhelter will look to bounce back from her 37th place finish at the Mountain View Collegiate. The sophomore currently leads the Wildcats with a 74.33 stroke average.
Pyle will look to continue her successful season as she has recorded four top-20 finishes on the year and currently has the third-best stroke average on the team at 75.80.
Live stats of the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate will be available on www.golfstat.com, and results will be posted to www.kstatesports.com at the conclusion of play each day.
