Wildcats Finish with Seventh-Place Showing

KANEOHE, Hawaii After shooting the best rounds of the spring season, Kansas State remained in seventh place in the final standings of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in Kaneohe, Hawaii. Entering the third round in a tie for seventh, the Wildcats finished with rounds of 303-313-302918, 66-over par and the fifth lowest round of the day.

Michelle Regan shot her way to the 13^th top-20 individual finish of the season for the Cats and only the second this spring. Sophomore Regan tied for 15^th after firing 13-over with rounds of 76-77-73226. The top-20 finish marks the third for Regan this season.

Also for the Wildcats, Kali Quick tied for 26^th shooting 76-78-76230. Hailey Mireles carded rounds of 77-79-75231 and finished in 32^nd place. Helene Robert tied for 38^th scoring 74-83-78235, while Katy Heffel tied for 48^th shooting 78-79-82239.

Sweeping top honors was Tennessee. The Lady Volunteers finished 38 shots ahead of second-place New Mexico in the team standings, shooting a 4-over 856, including a third round 4-under 280, the lowest of the Thompson Invitational.

Individually, Tennessee took the top four spots, with Marci Turner finishing with a 3-under 210, including a third round 64. Lady Volunteers Golda Johansson (70-73-71214), Nicole Smith (72-72-72216) and Violeta Retamoza (72-72-73217) finished second, third and fourth respectively.
