K-State’s Michelle Regan was the team’s best finisher at 4-over par 76, putting her in a tie for 46th. Her round was over a full stroke below her season average of 77.18. Both Abbi Sunner and Kali Quick sit just two strokes back of Regan at 6-over par 78 and in 65th place.
Elise Houtz, playing in her first tournament this spring, shot a 7-over par 79 to land in a tie for 73rd. The opening round was tied for her lowest of the season and more than five strokes lower than her 84.13 season average. Hailey Mireles shot an 8-over 80 to tie for 76th after the first round.
Mireles will tee off Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. (PT), followed by Houtz, Sunner, Quick and Regan in eight-minute intervals. They will all be playing the back nine holes first. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
