HOUSTON, TEXAS - Kansas State won Texas A&M “Mo”Morial Tuesday in a playoff with Missouri. The Wildcats shot 1-under on the 18th hole to claim its second team title of the year. Senior Christine Boucher shot an even par to win the individual title.

“We were excited to have this chance today because we’ve been in the hunt several times this year,” head coach Kristi Knight said. “It was a bit nerve racking for the team. The playoff was a new experience, but we stayed composed.”

K-State also won the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational when it hosted at Colbert Hills, Oct. 13-14. Boucher has now won three tournaments this year, including the season-opening Chip-N Club Inviational, Sept. 15-16 and the Price’s Give Em Five Challenge, Oct. 6-8. This is the sixth victory of her career.

“Christine played well,” Knight said. “She played very steady and had a good day.”

Amanda Costner of Kansas and Maria Ohlsson of Missouri finished tied for second place behind Boucher. Texas Christian University finished third in the team race, shooting a third-round low of 297, while host Texas A&M tied for fourth with Arkansas.

Wildcat senior Karen Quintelier tied for 15th, with scores of 71-79-78. Junior Stephanie Limoges shot a combined 231 to finish tied for 25th. Junior Sarah Heffel tied for 31st and freshman Helene Robert tied for 53rd.
