HOUSTON, TEXAS - Shooting a first-round 292 started the day of the Kansas State women’s golf team off right. The Wildcats had the best first-round score by six strokes. Missouri shot a first-round 298.
Though the team struggled a bit more in the second round, the Wildcats shot a combined 313 and held on to finish the day in fourth place.
Senior Christine Boucher leads the Wildcats as she is in third place with rounds of 70-77 for a combined 147. Senior Karen Quintelier also shot under par in the first round. She is tied for ninth with scores of 71-79--150.
Individually, Indiana’s Karen Dennison holds the lead with a combined 145. She is closely trailed by Kansas’ Amanda Costner, who shot a two-round 146. Missouri leads the team race by two strokes, ahead of second-place Indiana and Kansas.
The Wildcats continue play at the Texas A&M “Mo”Morial Invitational Tuesday in Houston, Texas.
