PARRISH, Fla. Sophomore Kali Quick shot a three-round total of 226 to finish in 11th place as the Kansas State women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Central District Invitational on Tuesday. The Wildcat squad concluded their spring opener in 13th place after shooting rounds of 315-309-313937.

The team came into the final round in 12th place, but slipped behind Illinois State and ended the tournament two shots back of the Redbirds. Baylor took the team title after firing the tournament’s lowest round of 296 Tuesday and finished with scores of 302-298-296896. Ohio State ended play one shot ahead of SMU in the No. 2 position with a team score of 301-308-298907.

SMU’s Lacey Jones took home the individual title after coming into the final round in second place. Jones concluded the invitational 1-under par, firing 72-73-70215. Stephanie Ruiz of Nebraska finished in second place with scores of 73-75-71219.

Quick entered Tuesday’s final round tied for 14th place, but improved her second-round score by two strokes. Quick had rounds of 74-77-75226, marking her lowest score on the year. Her 11^th-place performance is her third top-20 finish of the season.

Juniors Katy Heffel and Helene Robert finished in a five-way tie for 51st. Heffel carded rounds of 81-78-78237, with Robert shooting 79-78-80237. Sophomore Hailey Mireles finished in a tie for 57th (81-76-82239). Freshman Krista Nelson wrapped up her first collegiate tournament with a 66th-place finish (81-82-80243).
