PARRISH, Fla. - Kansas State is in 15th place after two rounds of the Central District Invitational Monday. Freshman Kali Quick leads the Wildcats, tied for 19th with rounds of 74 and 77.
Missouri is in first place at the tournament, which features the top teams in the district, as they shot an 11-over 587 on the day. Arkansas’ Stacy Lewis is atop the individual leader board with a 2-under 142.
K-State struggled to get a hot start on the new spring season on the River Wilderness course. Wildcat seniors Stephanie Limoges and Sarah Heffel shot a 168 and 169, respectively, on the 36-hole day. The youth of the K-State lineup overpowered those veterans as Quick was only 7-over on the day and sophomore Katy Heffel shot two rounds of 79 to tie for 53rd.
K-State continues the Central District Invitational with the 18 final holes Tuesday. Complete coverage of the tournament can be found at www.golfstat.com. Check out www.k-statesports.com for all coverage of the Wildcat women’s golf team.
