Round Two Results Get Acrobat Reader

TULSA, Okla. – The Kansas State women’s golf team moved up the boards on Tuesday as it improved by 13 strokes during the second round of the Dale McNamara Invitational at par 72, 6,450-yard Patriot Golf Course.

The Wildcats notched a 10-over par 298 on Tuesday and enter Wednesday’s final round with a 36-hole score of 609 (+33). K-State’s performance was tied for the fifth-best score of the day and moved the Cats up one spot from yesterday to 10th place.

“It was a good team effort today,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “The women did a great job of adjusting to the wind. We played the course differently today, but we adjusted well for the most part.”

Freshman Olivia Eliasson showed a lot of improvement from round one to round two as she shot an even par 72, 14 strokes better than her first-round performance. Eliasson moved up 16 spots on the leaderboard thanks to four birdies on the day as she sits in a tie for 58th heading into the final round.

Hannah Roos also finished strong in round two, improving her first-round score by five strokes. Roos carded a 2-over par 74 and sits in a tie for 36th at 9-over par 153.

Ami Storey bettered her stroke count in round two by eight, shooting a 3-over par 75. She is tied with Eliasson for 58th at 14-over par.

Gianna Misenhelter carded a 5-over par 77 Tuesday and has a 36-hole score of 151. She enters the final round in search of a top-20 finish as she is currently tied for 24th. Six strokes behind Misenhelter is Whitney Pyle, who shot a 10-over par on the day and has earned a 36-hole score of 157.

Arizona State is atop the leaderboard with a 36-hole score of 572 (-4) and remains comfortably in first place by 21 strokes.  The Sun Devils’ Giulia Molinaro is still in first individually after shooting a 3-under par on the day. Molinaro is eight strokes ahead of a three-way tie for second place.

K-State will tee off the third and final round of the Dale McNamara Invitational at 8:50 a.m., Wednesday morning. Live stats can be followed on www.golfstat.com, and complete results will be posted on www.kstatesports.com following the conclusion of the round.
