Wildcats Complete First Round at Dale McNamara
Sept. 12, 2011 First Round Results Misenhelter was solid on the day as she collected two birdies, and teammate Whitney Pyle was right on her heels with a 3-over par 75 to tie for 19th as both look start off the year with a top-20 finishes. “It was the first round of the season, so there is a lot of room for improvement, but after the first round Gianna and Whitney were solid,” said coach Kristi Knight. K-State’s score of 311 is 11 strokes behind a two-way tie for fourth with Iowa State and Tulsa. “We had a good practice after the round, and tomorrow is an opportunity for a better day and to move up the boards,” Knight said. Arizona State sits in first place after round one at 8-under par 280. The Sun Devils are 14 strokes ahead of second place Oklahoma State, which carded a 6-over par 294. Arizona State’s Giulia Molinaro is currently in first place with a 5-under par 67. Mulinaro’s teammates Justine Lee and Daniela Ordonez are in a tie for second place with a 2-under par 70. K-State’s Hannah Roos carded a 7-over par 79 and sits at a nine-way tie for 49th. Ami Storey notched an 11-over par 83, while Olivia Eliasson shot a 14-over par 86.
