Manhattan, Kan. - The Kansas State women's golf team shot a second-round 326 after a round of 325 Thursday and is in 13th place after two rounds in the NCAA Women's Division I Central Regional, hosted by Michigan State University, at the Forest Akers West Golf Course.

Christine Boucher and Miranda Smith are tied for 30th with two-round scores of 159. Boucher shot an 80 Friday after an opening-round 79, while Smith posted an 81 in her second round after a 78 Thursday. Elise Carpentier is tied for 65th with scores of 81-83--164, and Edie Murdoch is tied for 84th with rounds of 87-82--169. Sarah Heffel, the only Wildcat competing in her first NCAA Tournament, shot an 86 Friday after an opening-round 87 (173) and remains tied for 92nd place.

Ohio State shot a 310 Friday after an opening-round 311 and jumped to a tie for first place with Kent State, which was in first after the opening round, with scores of 621. Purdue is in third with a score of 623, while Tulsa (624) and Oklahoma State (625) round out the top five.

Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh and Kent State's Martina Gillen, who were tied for second after the first round, shot rounds of 77 Friday and jumped to a tie for first with Baylor's Melanie Hagewood with scores of 148. Purdue's Caroline Laurens (151) and Christy Rittenhouse (152) round out the top five.
