K-State places third at Mountain View Collegiate

Tucson, Ariz. - Junior Christine Boucher claimed the individual title at the Mountain View Collegiate, carding a 2-under par 70 in the final round to lead the Wildcats to a third place finish. The Wildcats, who took a three-stroke lead into today's final round, recorded a combined score of 894 (299-290-305).
International Pacific College took home the team title by carding a 890 (2995-302-293). Iowa State finished in second just two stroke ahead of the Wildcats, recording scores of 301-291-300-892.
Boucher, who was one stroke off the individual leader Saturday, came from behind to claim the third tournament title of her career. She carded scores of 76-71-70- 217 to finish just one stroke over par.
Senior Miranda Smith and sophomore Sarah Heffel both finished in a five-way tie for 24th place with three-round scores of 229. Smith recorded scores of 82-71-76. Heffel carded scores of 74-74-81. Senior Elise Carpentier (76-75-81), who played as an individual, junior Karen Quintelier (75-74-83), and sophomore Stephanie Limoges (74-80-78) all tied for 27th with scores of 232. Limoges, who made her first appearance this spring, set a career low with her first round score of 74. She also recorded a career-best finish.
The Wildcats are back in action April 7-8 at the Susie Maxwell Classic in Norman, Okla.
