Western Squad Takes Team Title Sunday


 

 
 

Kewannee, Ill. - Behind the performances of Lindsey Salsbury and Lindsey Hicks again, the Kansas State equestrian squad upped its leading standing in the regional ranks with a first place finish in the second Western show at Blackhawk College.

 

The Wildcats took first in the team standings with 38 points Sunday, five points from a perfect score on the day, while Blackhawk College finished second with 31 points. With that performance Sunday, the Wildcats increased their lead to 55 points in the region.

 

Individually, Hicks was named the High Point Rider Saturday, while Salsbury was named the Reserve High Point Rider. Nine Wildcats, including Kara Taddiken, Emily Wolfe, Alden Haugh, Shanda Draper, Nicole Oliver, Becky Abramovitz, Katie Steinle, Lindsey Salsbury and Lindsey Hicks all took home first place finishes in their respective classes to lead Kansas State.

 

The Wildcats have finished play for the fall semester and will be back in action next semester with a trip to St. Louis, Mo., for the Washington University Hunt Show on February 18 and 19.
