Manhattan, Kan. - The Kansas State english equestrian team finished out the weekend with a flawless record after they secured High Point Team honors with 39 points at the third and final hunt show of the weekend. The team also continued their domination of High Point Rider honors after senior Allison Woodworth and sophomore Kelsey Wright tied for the title.

Woodworth placed first in Open Over Fences B and Open Flat B, while Wright won Intermediate Fences and Intermediate Flat B. In addition, the team accumulated eight other first place finishes, bringing the weekend’s total number of first place finishers to 29. The other first place finishes were as follows: sophomore Casey Finnell in Open Over Fences A, senior Olivia Law in Novice Flat A, junior Megan Montgomery in Walk/Trot/Canter A, junior Bridgett Fleming in Novice Flat B, freshman Lindsey Cook in Walk/Trot/Canter B, junior Jenae Grossart in Intermediate Flat A, Julieann Todd in Novice Flat C, and sophomore Sheena Linders in Open Flat C.

“We had a really great weekend,” assistant coach Meghan Cunningham said. “We were able to correct a lot of things that we had been working on all week and we were able to build a substantial lead toward the Regional Championship. I’m really excited about the fact that we haven’t lost yet and we just need to continue winning. The riders did a great job today.”

This concludes the fall season for the english team. The Wildcats will return to action at the Southern Illinois Hunt Show on the weekend of February 19-20.
