Wildcat Western Team set to Ride in Final Show of the Fall Season

The K-State Equestrian team will ride one last time on the western side this weekend at the Truman State Show in Columbia, Mo. This two-day show will be the Cats third and final outing for the fall season.

The Wildcats will be looking to Erin Peery and Nicole Ruff to continue their strong performances for the final show of the season. Peery and Ruff were awarded High-Point Riders on the first and second days of the two-day show at Black Hawk College, respectively.

“The girls are riding well and practicing hard,” head coach Lindsay Breidenthal said. “I am not looking to one person specifically, rather I am looking to my whole team to come together and win this weekend.”

The Kansas State western team is currently in first place in their seven-team region with 106 points, with Black Hawk College trailing close behind with 102 points.

“It is going to take an entire team effort in order for us to win this weekend,” Breidenthal said. “But this team is very capable of doing that and they proved that in our last show.”

The Truman State show will begin on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Intermediate I competition. While Sunday the show is set to start at 9 a.m.

The Cats will start up their spring season on February 6-8, as they will join the English team in a three-day show at Southern Cal.
