Chicago, Ill.- The Kansas State women’s equestrian team capped an impressive weekend with a win in day two of the Northern Illinois Hunt Show. The Wildcats finished as the High Point team with 41 points with host team Northern Illinois finishing in second with 31 points. Kansas State junior Casey Finell had a strong day as she was the Reserve High Point rider.

K-State had nine first place finishers Sunday, with wins coming from Heather Chatham in Open Fences Section B, Carley Williams in Intermediate Section A, Jenae Grossart in Intermediate Fences Section B, Casey Finnell in Open Flat Section A, Macie Ayers in Novice Flat Section A, Kristin Morrell in Walk Trot, Lindsey Cook in Advanced Walk Trot Canter Section A, Jeahn Creviston in Advanced Walk Trot Canter Section B and Dresden Summer in Intermediate Flat Section B.

“It was a good day, especially on the flat in particular,” head coach Teresa Slough said. “We rode well over fences too, but we need some work in that area. Overall it was a great weekend and I am proud of our girls.”
