Peery Leads Wildcats on Day Three at IHSA Nationals
In the reining phase of the AQHA High Point Rider division, Erin Peery continued her success by finishing seventh overall in a field of 15 other riders and earning the Wildcats a total of 123 points. In her junior year on the equestrian team, competing both this year and last at nationals, Peery has gained valuable experience.

Senior Brandi Vogel also rode on the third day of competition in open western horsemanship, but did not place. This completes Vogel’s career at K-State as one of the most decorated riders. In 2002 she brought home the Wildcats’ first ever individual championship at nationals in advanced horsemanship. Last year Vogel also placed at nationals in open horsemanship and open reining, finishing fourth and 10th respectively.
K-State has one more rider competing at nationals on the last day of competition. Peery will be riding in individual open reining.
