Schroller Qualifies for Zone Championships
“We worked really hard to prepare for Regionals,” English head coach Ashley Foster said. “I am thrilled that Hannah moved on to Zones. She rode a tough horse well and definitely deserved to move on.”
Along with Schroller a group of six Wildcat equestrian riders also competed in the IHSA competition Saturday, at Dassenbrook Farm.
Junior Alden Haugh competed in Advanced Walk Trot Canter and placed fourth, while sophomore Kayla Potter placed third in the same event.
“Lindsay Cook also had a very nice ride over fences and it is a shame that she didn’t end up qualifying,” Foster said. “I was really proud of how well she rode. Unfortunately, we had some bad luck on the flat as we drew the same horse four times. The horse did not want to canter which made competing on it very difficult.”
K-State’s varsity squad will finish off the season April 17-19 in
“Since Hannah was our only qualifier, we will be working hard this week to prepare her for next weekend’s competition,” Foster said. “I am very hopeful that the luck of the draw is on our side.”
