MANHATTAN, Kan. – Three months after knocking off No. 7 Georgia in their fall season home finale, the No. 6 Kansas State equestrian team returns to Timbercreek Stables for the spring home debut against No. 2 Baylor on Friday. The meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.

“It will be great to be back at home for the next two weekends to finish out our regular season schedule,” said head coach Casie Maxwell. “This Friday will be a big challenge for our team as Baylor has a strong record and lots of confidence this season. However, we are undefeated at home up to this point and we fully intend to finish out the season that way.”

The Wildcat Hunter Seat team will be led by captains Madison Wayda and Rachel Webster. The duo will look to make an impact for K-State in both Equitation Over Fences and Equitation on the Flat. The Wildcats will have a strong group that includes seniors Cat Avolese, Shana Barnett, Jacquelyn Bogstad and freshman Henley Adkins.

In Horsemanship, K-State’s lineup will feature the same riders it has used in both meets so far this spring. The group consists of seniors Kelly Bovaird, Amelia Crites, Chayna DeNicolo, Rachel Wetherell and sophomore Danielle Kemper.

The K-State reiners will also feature a familiar lineup this weekend. Bovaird will be joined by fellow seniors Jordan CoxJesse Johnson and Emily Stockford. Junior Savannah Smith and sophomores Kara Guy and Nicholle Hatton round out the potential lineup for the Wildcats.

Following the meet this week, K-State will have a quick turnaround as they return to action on March 8 when No. 8 TCU visits on Senior Day.
