K-State Western Team Places Second at Regional Western Point Show
“Brandi Vogel and Erin Peery both rode very well for us,” K-State head coach Lindsay Breidenthal said. “They both pulled their weight for the team this weekend and I’m proud of them.”
Peery earned two first-place finishes in open horsemanship A and open reining to clinch High-Point rider honors, while Vogel placed first in open horsemanship B and fourth in open reining to capture Reserve High-Point rider honors.
Other first-place finishers for
Nicole Ruff contributed to the Wildcats’ efforts with a second-place finish in open reining and third-place showing in open horsemanship B. Other high-place finishers included Kara Taddiken and Megan Montgomery with second-place finishes in novice horsemanship A and intermediate I horsemanship, respectively. Riders finishing in third place were Megan Felts in advanced horsemanship, Kristin Tanney in open horsemanship A and Lauren Allen in novice horsemanship C.
“We noticed that we have some things to work on in order to get back on top and have a team compete in regionals,” Breidenthal said.
