ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Behind the performance of Casey Finnell, the Kansas State equestrian squad upped its leading standing in the regional ranks with a first place finish in the first of two Hunt Seat shows at Washington University. The Wildcats took first in the team standings with 33 points, while Northern Illinois finished second with 25 points.

Individually, Finnell was named the High Point Rider Saturday. Twelve Wildcats, Casey Finnell, Juliann Todd, Jenny Giraldin, Nicole Harkness, Whitney Snyder, Erin Paulsen, Dresden Sommer, Erin Bodlack, Leslie Yates, Bridget Fleming, Katie Edwards and Lindsey Morford all took home first place finishes in their respective classes to lead Kansas State.

“As a team we rode extremely well. We were strong and consistent on the flat, we won 11 flat classes,” head coach Teresa Slough said. “We are very pleased with our riding and look forward to tomorrow’s show.”

The Wildcats conclude the weekend with a 9 a.m. Hunt show Sunday at Washington University.
