MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State athletics department announced on Tuesday a number of single game ticket promotions for the 16 women’s basketball games in Bramlage Coliseum this season. All individual game tickets will be available through the K-State Athletics Ticket Office (800-221-CATS, www.kstatesports.com) beginning on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
K-State will offer a “Wildcat Weekday 4 Pack” for four games this season: Friday, Nov. 18 against Missouri State, Wednesday, Dec. 7 against Wichita State, Wednesday, Jan. 4 against Texas A&M and Wednesday, Feb. 22 against Oklahoma State. The $30 “Wildcat Weekday 4 Pack” includes four general admission tickets and four concessions vouchers valid for a hot dog, chips and a drink.
K-State is also offering four “Wildcat Weekend” ticket promotions when fans can purchase general admission tickets for only $3 each when showing a ticket from another K-State sporting event from the same weekend. Dates for the “Wildcat Weekend” promotions are the Saturday, Nov. 12 against Dartmouth (football vs. Texas A&M or men’s basketball ticket vs. Charleston Southern), Saturday, Dec. 3 against Iowa (football ticket vs. Iowa State) and Saturday, March 3 against Texas Tech (men’s basketball ticket vs. Oklahoma State).
For the second straight season, K-State will take part in the NCAA’s “Pack the House” initiative. This year’s “Pack the House” game will be on Saturday, Feb. 4, as the Wildcats welcome the reigning Big 12 champions and the 2011-12 preseason Big 12 selection Baylor Bears to Bramlage Coliseum. All tickets for the game, as well as a number of concessions items, will be available for just $1 each.
K-State will celebrate “National Girls and Women in Sports Day” on Wednesday, Jan. 25 against Iowa State. All girls basketball players age 14 and under wearing their team jersey will receive free admission to the 7 p.m., contest with the Cyclones.
For the fourth straight season, Kansas State will participate in the annual WBCA “Play 4Kay” initiative. This year’s “Play 4 Kay” game for K-State will be on Saturday, Feb. 18 against Texas. The first 4,000 fans into Bramlage Coliseum will receive a pink K-State t-shirt, which is sponsored by Mercy Regional, Briggs Auto and GTM. The Wildcats will also be donning pink uniforms for the fourth straight season.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund has rebranded the initiative from the WBCA Pink Zone to “Play 4Kay” this season. The Play 4Kay effort maintains the same mission as its Pink Zone predecessor: to engage a nation of coaches to raise breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The Kay Yow Cancer Fund will remain the official charity of the initiative.
Additional concessions promotions offered throughout the season include: $1 hot dog nights on Tuesday, Nov. 8 against Washburn and Wednesday, Jan. 11 against Missouri, a package of two drinks and a large popcorn for $8 at the Oklahoma game on Tuesday, Jan. 17, and half-price slushies for the Kansas game on Sunday, Feb. 12.
Prices for single game tickets this season are: $5 for general admission youth, $8 general admission adult, $9 for bench seating and $12 for chairback. Season tickets remain available, including the Wildcat 4-Pack season ticket package of four general admission tickets for $200. Kansas State women’s basketball finished the 2010-11 season ranked 24th in the nation in average attendance with 4,068 per game coming through the turnstiles. It is the third straight season and the eighth time in the last 10 seasons that K-State has finished among the top-25 in average attendance.
Head coach Deb Patterson returns to the sidelines for her 16th season in Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats return eight letterwinners and four starters from the 12th NCAA Tournament squad in school history, including All-Big 12 selections Brittany Chambers and Jalana Childs.
The Wildcats registered an overall record of 21-11 and a 10-6 mark in Big 12 action which resulted in a tie for third in the league. During the 2010-11 season, K-State became the 13th program in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history to reach the 800-win plateau.
K-State hosts exhibition games with Oklahoma City on Thursday, Nov. 3 and Washburn on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The Wildcats will open the 2011-12 regular season with a three-game home stand starting on Saturday, Nov. 12 against Dartmouth. The game time will be announced after a game time is determined for the K-State football game against Texas A&M.
