MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's basketball team finished in the Top 10 for a second-straight year on the final Division I NCAA attendance list, according to the June 23 NCAA News.

K-State finished sixth in attendance, the highest ranking the Wildcats have received in their 35 years of competition, with an average of 8,753 fans per game. KSU had 175,053 fans attend 20 games at Bramlage Coliseum. Connecticut topped the list, averaging 12,859 fans. Tennessee was second (12,585) followed by Texas Tech (12,204), New Mexico (11,896) and Iowa State (9,632).

Kansas State also was ranked in the Top 10 in attendance for all games. The 'Cats were fourth, having 240,932 fans attend 34 contests this past season. Tennessee was first (384,992/38 gm) followed by Connecticut (361,879/38 gm) and Texas Tech (269,259/35 gm).

For the fourth consecutive year, the Big 12 Conference captured the top spot in conference attendance with 970,764 fans. The league's 5,030 per-game average also led the nation. It is only the third time in history a league has passed the 5,000 mark (the Big 12 also did it with 5,030 in 2001 and a record 5,331 last year).

The Big Ten Conference was second in total attendance (716,019/4,447 avg.) followed by the Southeastern Conference (670,023/3,764 avg.), Mountain West (365,722/3,022 avg.) and the Big East (548,115/2,825 avg.).
