The rankings, which consist of the top-25 teams with at least one freshman in its top five, are calculated by relative strength, with the best possible score being 1,000. The Wildcats checked in with a relative strength of 199.723, just over 173 points shy of No. 1 Clemson.
“I think from top to bottom we are very good this year,” said head coach Tim Norris. “Being so young and being able to say that is a very positive thing. I see these guys getting better and better. When you bring in a young group and you look down the road a couple of years, to have three or four seniors is going to be pretty exciting.”
Furthermore, K-State is one of only four schools on the list to have as many as three players in its top five, as 19 schools made the list with just two.
