BRALESTON, Ga. Kansas State freshman golfer Joe Kinney earned honorable mention honors to the Rolex Junior All-American team, the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) announced Tuesday.

Kinney, the Antioch, Ill. native, capped off a successful junior career this past summer as he captured a victory at the 2005 Future Legends in Wales, Wis. He also registered a second-place finish at the Midwest Juniors Players Championship in Huntley, Ill. Throughout his four-year junior career, Kinney cracked the top-15 seven times.

The 135 junior golfers who received honors from the AGJA will be recognized Nov. 20 during the Rolex Junior All-American Awards Banquet in Jekyll Island, Ga.

The Rolex Junior All-American Teams were established in 1978 by the AJGA and annually recognizes the world’s best junior golfers. Former Rolex Junior All-Americans Tiger Woods, Phil Mikelson, David Toms, Jim Furyk and Sergio Garcia are current top-10 money leaders on the PGA Tour.
