Cats Travel to San Jose for the Santa Clara Invitational
MANHATTAN, Kan. The Kansas State men’s golf team looks to place in the top five for the fourth consecutive tournament as the Wildcats compete in the Santa Clara Invitational, Monday, October 20, and Tuesday, October 21. The event will tee off with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. (PT) on Monday for the first 36 holes. The third and final round will also be a shotgun start Tuesday at 8 a.m. (PT) LOOK AT THE FIELD: The field contains 11 teams from across North America including the LAST TIME OUT: Following a third round score of 4-over 292, the Kansas State men’s golf team jumped from fifth place to fourth and tied with host team Nevada after a three round score of 1-under par 863 at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev.
HOT START: The beginning of the 2008-09 season for the
EARLY SUCCESS: Senior Robert Streb contunied his amazing start to season with two more rounds under par at the Wolf Pack Classic, giving him eight par or below-par scores out of nine rounds played this fall. Junior Joe Ida finished three strokes back of Streb as he tied for 16th with a score of even par 216, while Gregson tied for 23rd after carding a 72-71-75 for a 2-over par 218 .
