Cypress, Texas Former Wildcat Matt Van Cleave advanced to the PGA Tour’s second stage of qualifying for membership on the 2006 tour. Van Cleave tied for 19th as he carded a 71-72-69-70282 (-6) on the par-72, 7,171-yard Black Horse Golf Club’s south course.

Van Cleave’s next step towards gaining membership for the 2006 tour will come Nov. 10-13 and Nov. 17-20 at a site to be determined at a later date.

Three other former Wildcats, Aaron Watkins, Bryan Milberger, and AJ Elgert will take their first step towards the Tour Oct. 18-21. Watkins and Milberger will play at the Dayton Valley Country Club in Dayton, Nev., as Elgert will take on the Kannapolis Country Club in Kannapolis, NC.
