Bring on the Sooners
The Kansas State men's golf team will host Oklahoma in it's second home event of the season on Thursday, Oct. 17, at Colbert Hills Golf Course. The two Big 12 Conference teams will face off in a dual match, pitting eight Wildcats vs. eight Sooners in a head-to-headmatchup. Each group will play off the first tee and traditional stroke-play rules will apply. The best six out of eight individual scores for each 18 holes will count towards the team score and the team with the lowest score at the end of 36 holes wins.

Rained Out
Last year's dual match between K-State and OU at Colbert Hills Golf Course was cancelled due to inclement weather. The players were pulled off the course shortly after teeing off, and the decision was made to cancel the match shortly afterward. The match was not rescheduled for the next day due to the Big XII Women's Golf Championships taking place simultaneously at Colbert Hills.

In the Ranks
Oklahoma is No. 19 in the latest Sagarin rankings (10/8/02) with a 71.58 rating, while Kansas State is No. 48 with a 72.48 rating. Aaron Watkins claims the top individual ranking for players in the tournament, standing at No. 27 in the country with a 69.81 ranking. Martin Flores is the top-ranked player for the Sooners, holding the No. 99 spot in the country with a 71.17 rating.

The Ole' Cat Fight
The K-State/Oklahoma dual replaces the former annual "Cat Fight" which paired Wilcats against the Missouri Tigers. K-State defeated MU in the last matchup on April 8, 2001.
