Cats tee off season at Colbert Hills
MANHATTAN, Kan. - The
LOOK AT THE FIELD: The field contains 10 teams from around the country. The entire 10-team field includes:
2007 JIM COLBERT INTERCOLLEGIATE: Mitch Gregson and Robert Streb shot the same low score for the Wildcats for the second consecutive day and led Kansas State to a second place finish at the 10 team tournament. Gregson and Streb finished with an even-72 in final round at Colbert Hills Golf Course where the Wildcats finished behind EARLY SUCCESS: Wildcat golfer’s Spencer Alefs and Joe Kinney have had much success this fall without even playing in a tournament. On September 11, Spencer Alefs carded an 8-under par 64 to tie the Colbert Hills course record. Alefs, playing from the Black and Blue tees, tied current Wildcat golfer Robert Streb. This past Tuesday, Sept. 16, junior Joe Kinney hit a 240 yard hole-in-one on hole No.11 with a two iron at Colbert Hills.
WELCOME BACK: Jason Schulte and Joe Kinney are back in the lineup after redshirting the 2007-08 season to improve their golf games. Schulte played in 15 rounds during the 2006-07 season with an average score of 77.40. Joe Kinney competed in 25 rounds while averaging a score of 77.20 during the 2006-07 season.
