Wildcat Newcomer Tyler Cummins Finishes Third at World University Games
Manhattan, Kan. - Kansas State newcomer Tyler Cummins continued K-State’s successful summer with a third-place finish at the 10th annual World University Games August 2-5 in Korat, Thailand.
The Dodge City Community College transfer fired an even par 288, seven strokes behind tournament champion Darren Crowe of Ireland. Cummins was the top finisher on the United States squad, which was comprised of golfers from NJCAA and NAIA schools. A two-time NJCAA All-American, Cummins led the United States to a third-place finish behind the South Africa and Japan. Cummins success is the most recent of impressive finishes by the Wildcats this summer. Earlier this summer junior Ben Kern won the Arizona Amateur and former Wildcat and 2004 NCAA Championships qualifier A.J. Elgert won the Nebraska Amateur. |
