Wildcats in Second After One Round at Big 12 Championships
The par-70 course at the Prairie Dunes Country Club played as tough as expected and Elgert was the lone individual in the 60-player tournament to break par, carding a 1-under 69 to take a one-stroke lead in to the Monday afternoon’s second round.
Elgert’s round was bolstered by birdies on 5, 13 and 17.
Four players sit one shot back in second, including K-State senior Aaron Watkins.
With two players in the top five,
Senior Tim Moody, playing in K-State’s No. 3 spot, was even heading into the final two holes before posting a quadruple bogey on 17 and a bogey on 18 to finish up at 5-over 75. Matt Van Cleave fired a 76 for K-State’s final scoring round of the morning session.
The second round of the Big 12 Men’s Golf Championships teed off at approximately Final results are expected to be available at depending on pace of play.
