K-State Cards 310 in First Round; Second Round Suspended
Hilton Head, S.C. Following a frost delay in the morning, the
Head coach Tim Norris credits the difficult of the course for all the high day-one scores, but looks for improvement out of his squad on Tuesday.
“The greens are fairly small and the course is playing a lot longer than 6,875 yards,” Norris said. “Our guys are improving during the second round. Hopefully we can battle back to have a good 36-hole score and go from there.”
Senior Ben Kern, competing in his first tournament of the spring, led the way for the ’Cats with a first-round score of three-over 75.
Tyler Cummins and Joe Kinney both carded rounds of 77, while Robert Streb and Jay Kramer shot 81 and 84, respectively.
Due to the frost delay and the suspension of the second round, complete day one results were not available. Results from all three rounds will be available Tuesday. Teams are scheduled to finish the second round in the morning before completing in the tournament's final round. Results will be posted on www.k-statesports.com as soon as they are available.
