BRANSON, Mo. - The Kansas State men's golf team tied for third at the Branson Creek Invitational at the par-71, 7,036-yard Branson Creek Golf Club. The Wildcats posted a three-round total of 874 (292-284-298) to tie with Illinois State.

Senior Bryan Milberger was the top finisher for KSU, posting a 1-over-par 214 (72-69-73) to tie for fourth. Sophomore A.J. Elgert joined Milberger in the top 10, tying for seventh with a 215 (71-70-74). Senior Matt Williams earned his fifth top-20 finish of the season, tying for 15th with a 220 (73-72-75).

Also competing for K-State were sophomore Bryan Schweizer, who tied for 36th with a 225 (76-73-76), and junior Mark Sprecker, who tied for 63rd with a 236 (77-78-81). Freshman Jonathan James competed as an individual and shot 231 (76-78-77) to tie for 48th.

Nebraska won the tournament with a 14-over-par 866 (290-281-295). The Cornhuskers finished two strokes ahead of Iowa State, who posted a 868 (283-280-305). The Cyclone's Jeremy Lyons took medalist honors with a 2-under par 211 (69-66-76), while Western Kentucky's Jared Topmiller and Soutwest Missouri State's Jeff Allen tied for second among the individuals with a 213.

"The good part about this is we will get another shot a Nebraska when they come to our home tournament," head coach Tim Norris said. "The guys are playing pretty solid right now and we're looking forward to this weekend."
