HEAD COACH BILL SNYDER

On Darren Sproles’ performance...

“I thought his performance was excellent and the offensive line played great. I was proud of Darren and I think he could have even played better. He is quite a player. I love his approach to the game. He prepares himself so well for every game and he is a joy to have as a coach.”

On the success of the running game...

“We always like to have balance but we learned a long time ago to do what they allow you to do. We were successful running the ball and we just wanted to continue doing what they were allowing us to do.”

On the play of the defense...

“Defensively, I thought we played very well with the exception of the last rushing touchdown. We gave up a deep ball off the goal line, but we played very well and I am proud of our defense. Louis Lavender played the entire game and I was very proud of him. He had a very steady performance and really made a nice play on that interception in the endzone.

On accomplishing season-long goals after a three-game losing streak...

“I haven’t assessed that, but to a certain degree, this is a team that bounced back after a tough stretch. Everything we wanted to accomplish was still in our own hands and I am proud for this team and the way they battled back. After Oklahoma State, we just expressed the fact that if we go out and win one game at a time, we can still accomplish the goals that we set out to accomplish. Our players knew that and we really didn’t have to stress that through the last few games. Our objective has been to win a Big 12 Championship and we still have that opportunity.”

On containing Missouri quarterback Brad Smith...

“Brad Smith can change a football game in a hurry. He is a special player and it is really amazing that we have been so successful containing him for the past two seasons.”

On facing Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship...

“I have not really seen much of their football team. I have no doubt about the quality of their team. Obviously, they are a very talented and explosive football team. They are very well coached and have a tremendous amount of talent.”
