MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State senior offensive lineman Jeromey Clary has been selected to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 football second team, as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Wednesday.

The selection is the first to the academic all-district team for Clary, who is also a two-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree, possesses a 3.41 G.P.A. in psychology and is on track to graduate from Kansas State in December.

Considered to be one of the top offensive tackles in the Big 12 Conference, Clary will make his 36th consecutive start for the Wildcats Saturday at Nebraska. The anchor of a young K-State offensive line in 2005, he has consistently graded out as the Wildcats’ No. 1 offensive lineman this season.

Heading into 2005, Clary was tapped as an All-Big 12 preseason first teamer by Athlon’s and Lindy’s, while being named as a second-team choice by The Sporting News. The Mansfield, Texas, product has also been a key leader for the Wildcats, serving as one of three team captains for 2005.

As a junior, Clary started all 11 games and was a second team All-Big 12 performer by both the coaches and the Kansas City Star.
