JUNIOR DEFENSIVE END JAMUS MARTIN

On the upset of No. 6-ranked Kansas State...

"What can we say? Our defense came out and played a good game. K-State's a great football team, but our defense came out and we locked them down. We came in with the focus of practicing hard this week and the practice paid off."

On Kansas State...

"They (Kansas State) have some real talent on the other side of the ball in James Terry and Darren Sproles. We were disappointed that we didn't see Ell Roberson today, but a game is a game and the defense came out and played with a lot of intensity and really stepped it up. The offense held their own too."

On preparation for the big game...

"Before the game, Coach (Pruett) told us it was assignment football this week and as long as you do your assignment and are in the right places, you'll make big plays. Everybody did their job and everything worked out, so we had big plays."

SENIOR LINEBACKER CHARLES TYNES

On the last drive...

"We were stressing the deep ball, but they kept pulling out with the screens. (Darren) Sproles shot up that sideline and somebody had to stop him. Somebody had to make the hit. If not, it was a tied ball game. We just had to stop them. It was a good way to finish the day for the defense today."

On the team's game plan...

"The game plan that we came in with this week, was to listen to the coaches and it worked out well. We just stuck with it (game plan) and believed in our coaches and ourselves and came out here to do what we had to do."

On scouting and preparing for Kansas State...

"We stressed the option all week and they didn't show it to us a lot. But, we just knew it was coming. So, we just tried to contain the option that's all we did in practice this week."

JUNIOR DEFENSIVE END JONATHAN GODDARD

On his 84-yard fumble return for touchdown...

"I was glad that I got that touchdown. Our defense has been doing well. That was just a big play for us and it helped a lot (in our victory over Kansas State)."

On winning the big game...

"I have a lot of pride and the whole defense has pride. We stepped it up all week, so we did well and came out and did what we were supposed to do."

On getting the nation's attention in defeating a top 25 opponent...

"We like to keep it that way and the defense is going to keep it that way for the rest of the year."
