MANHATTAN, Kan. - Construction on College Avenue north of KSU Stadium will alter some traffic routes for fans attending Saturday's home opening football game against Troy State, Department of Athletics officials announced today.

The closure of College Avenue between Kimball and Marlatt until mid-September will effect football exiting traffic patterns, according to Riley County Police Department officials. Vehicles exiting the game from the Agronomy parking area north of the stadium will be directed west on Kimball past College Avenue. Fans may begin turning north to Marlatt at Browning Avenue.

All other roadways leading to KSU Stadium are open, officials said, and traffic flow should be routine.

Athletics officials reminded fans that parking lots at KSU Stadium will open at 1 p.m., Saturday, five hours prior to kickoff.  Parking on the east and west sides of the stadium is reserved to donors of the Ahearn Scholarship Fund and requires a pass.

Additional parking for disabled patrons has been designated in the east and west stadium lots this year, according to Jim Muller, manager of athletic facility operations. Guests must display a disabled license plate or placard and present a state-issued disability card to utilize these spaces, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis for $10.

All other general public parking is limited to grass parking in private satellite lots and paved lots on campus. Parking charges for those lots generally is $10.
