2001 (JUNIOR) - Earned 2002 PAUL COFFMAN AWARD for spring
work in weight room... Saw action in all 11 games on the offensive line, including eight starts at center... Started the last five games at center after alternating the first six games with Andy Eby... Blocked for a running game that broke a nearly 50-year-old school record for rushing yards per game with a 257.7 average... The team's per-game rushing average was 30 yards better than the school-record average of 227.4 set in 1953... The offense ranked fourth nationally both in rushing offense and rushing touchdowns (34)... Helped RB Josh Scobey become K-State's all-time single-season leader in rushing yards with 1,263 and career rushing touchdown leader with 31.
2000 (Sophomore) - Played in each of K-State's first 11 games on an offensive line that allowed only nine sacks all season and blocked for a running game which tied the school record with 42 rushing touchdowns.
1999 (Freshman) - A versatile offensive lineman who played at guard and as a backup center.
1998 - Redshirt season.
Carter HS - Listed as a top 70 Texas prospect by First Down Recruiting... Was used in goal-line situations on defense and recorded 11 tackles... PrepStar All-America pick... Honorable mention All-USA by USA Today... Listed as one of the top 45 prospects and one of the top 11 offensive linemen in Texas by SuperPrep... High school coach, Bruce Chambers, is now an assistant at Texas and played under Bill Snyder at North Texas.
Personal - Born Oct. 14, 1978... Parents are Steve Washington and Annette Washington... Attended the same high school as former Wildcat offensive lineman Kendyl Jacox, who earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in 1997... Carter High led the nation in 1998 by producing eight Division I football signees.
Bowl Performances - Played in Wildcats' victory over Tennessee in 2001 Southwestern Bell Cotton Bowl Classic.
