MANHATTAN, Kan. - With preseason expectations for Kansas State men's basketball at a near all-time high, athletics officials announced on Friday that all reserved tickets for the 2010-11 season have been sold.
K-State has sold over 12,000 season tickets to the general public and students, surpassing last year's total by over 750 tickets.
"We are fortunate to have one of the best environments in college basketball in Bramlage Coliseum. This early sell-out of season tickets is a testament to the hard work of Coach Martin, his staff and our student-athletes as well as the loyalty and passion of K-State fans," Athletics Director John Currie said. "We are proud K-State Basketball can continue to be accessible to all K-State fans with tickets still available and affordably priced for home games during the holiday break and the much anticipated match-up with UNLV December 21 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City."
Fans still wanting to catch the Wildcats in action this season will have the opportunity to purchase single-game tickets to three home games during the University's holiday semester break when students are not on campus as well as the Hy-Vee Wildcat Classic at the Sprint Center in Kansas City against UNLV on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
Single-game tickets will go on sale Monday, Nov. 1 at 8:30 a.m. for UMKC (Thursday, Dec. 23), North Florida (Friday, Dec. 31) and Savannah State (Monday, Jan. 3) during the holiday break. For $20 per game, or $45 for all three matchups, fans can choose between reserved seats in Section 18 or 25, or general admission tickets. Tickets can be purchased online at www.kstatesports.com, by calling toll free at (800) 221.CATS (2287) or in-person at Athletics Ticket Office located in Bramlage Coliseum.
Tickets for the UNLV game are priced at $40 (lower-level sideline), $30 (lower-level end zone) and $20 (upper level), and can be purchased through the Athletic Ticket Office or Ticketmaster, by calling (800) 745.3000 or online at www.Ticketmaster.com. Group tickets starting at $10 each are also available in the upper level.
Kansas State has ranked among the nation's leaders in attendance in three of the last four seasons, including ranking 31st with an average of 11,884 fans per game to 17 home games in 2009-10. The team also ranked fourth in attendance among Big 12 institutions and was second only to Kansas in sellouts with 14. In addition, the school enjoyed the nation's largest average attendance increase with nearly 3,000 more fans per game. Three of the top-5 single-season attendance averages have come in the last four years.
Armed with the preseason Big 12 Player of the Year in Jacob Pullen, K-State will open the 2010-11 season with a pair of exhibition games before opening the regular season on Friday, Nov. 12 against James Madison. The Wildcats play Newman on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. and Washburn on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in exhibition play.
