Martin To Appear on Jim Rome Wednesday
MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State head coach Frank Martin will be a guest on the popular ESPN program, "Jim Rome Is Burning," on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Hosted by popular ESPN personality Jim Rome, "Jim Rome Is Burning" is a 30-minute talk show known for its unique take on the world of sports. It has been a regular staple on ESPN since 2005.
Martin has helped guide the Wildcats to a 16-2 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Big 12 action after knocking off previously unbeaten and No. 1 Texas, 71-62, on Monday night. The win was just the third-ever in school history over a No. 1 team and the first since beating top-ranked Kansas, 68-64, at Allen Field House on Jan. 17, 1994.
The team's current 16-2 record is the fourth-best start in school history and the best since also starting 16-2 in 1961-62. The Wildcats cracked the top 10 in both major polls on Monday, improving three spots to No. 9 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll and three spots to No. 10 in The Associated Press poll. It marks the first time that the team has appeared in the AP Top 10 since ranking ninth on March 13, 1973.
No. 10/9 Kansas State returns to action on Saturday afternoon, as the Wildcats take on Oklahoma State (13-4, 1-2 Big 12) for a 3 p.m. tip at Bramlage Coliseum.
