Sophomore (2010): A Second Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and the 2010 Big 12 Player of the Year as a sophomore... Became the first Wildcat to earn conference player of the year honors since 1992... Earned Preseason All-Big 12 accolades from Rivals.com and Baseball America... Named the Big 12 Player of the Year by the Waco Tribune and Collegiate Baseball, while he was a First Team All-Big 12 performer by the Waco Tribune, Austin American Statesman and The Oklahoman... Also earned Second Team All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball and ABCA All-Region honors... Helped K-State to the top team batting average in the Big 12 and third-best in school history... Was also a main component in helping the Cats set school records for single-season hits and stolen bases... Appeared in all 62 games, teaming with six other individuals to set the school record for games played in a season... Finished third on the team in batting average at .336 (79-of-232)... Recorded a team-high 17 doubles, two triples, four home runs and 50 RBI... Successful on 19-of-24 stolen-base attempts... Rated the top hitter in Illinois by Prep Baseball Report and was also named the Most Valuable Hitter at the 2007 18-under Wood Bat Continental Amateur Baseball Association World Series... A career .474 hitter with 55 doubles, six triples, 14 home runs and 101 RBI... Named all-conference, all-area and all-state as a sophomore, junior and senior... Led team to a 32-8 record as a senior, including a 15-0 record in conference play and a state championship... Hit for the cycle as a junior against Grayslake Central.
