MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas State women’s cross country team continues to garner accolades as senior Sydney Messick and sophomore Martina Tresch were named to the USTFCCCA Midwest All-Region Team on Monday. Tresch led K-State finishing 11th with Messick coming in strong at 15th overall. This is the second year that Messick has been named to the team.
This is the second consecutive season that K-State has placed two runners on this team. Last year Beverly Ramos finished sixth and Messick finished 17th to make the team. Runners must finish in the top 25 in their regional championship to make the All-Region Team.
This past Saturday the Wildcats qualified as a team for the NCAA Championships for the first time in 10 years and will compete against the nation’s top teams in Terre Haute, Ind., next week.
