Mortimer Named to Cross Country 10th Anniversary Team


 

 
 

DALLAS, Texas- Former Wildcat and All-American Amy Mortimer was named to the Big 12 Cross Country 10th Anniversary Team, as selected by the league’s head coaches. In order to be eligible for consideration, former athletes must have had a top-three finish at Big 12 Championships at least once in their careers.

 

Mortimer, a native of Manhattan, was a four-time All-American for the Wildcats from 1999-2002. She placed second at the Big 12 Conference meet her sophomore year, followed by a third-place showing her junior season.

 

Mortimer was named to the All-Big 12 team all four seasons she competed, as well as named regional champion three times. She held the title of Big 12 Runner of the Week three times throughout her career, and was named to the Big 12 All-Academic team her sophomore through senior years.

 

Anniversary teams will be chosen for each conference sport during 2005-06 in celebration of the Big 12's 10th anniversary season.
