MANHATTAN, Kan.- The Kansas State men’s and women’s cross country teams will travel to Stillwater, Okla., this Saturday, Sept. 30, for the 70th Annual Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree. The meet will be held at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course, with the women’s race beginning at 9:10 a.m., and the men following at 9:40 a.m.
Kansas State is coming off of a 20th-place women’s finish and 30th-place men’s placing at the Roy Griak Invitational Sept. 23. Sophomore Liliani Mendez highlighted last weekend’s performances with a ninth-place individual finish out of a field of 288. Mendez was named the Big 12 Women’s Runner of the Week for competition Sept. 22-24.
Last year, the Wildcat men’s team finished 11th at the Jamboree, while the women’s team scored a 12th-place finish.
Including the Jamboree, the Wildcats only have two meets remaining to prepare for the Big 12 Conference meet on October 27. K-State will also travel to the Chile Pepper Invitational on Oct. 14 in Fayetteville, Ark.
