IRVING, Texas The Big 12 Conference honored Kansas State junior Beverly Ramos Tuesday as the Big 12 Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for her first place finish at the J.K. Gold Classic, on Sep. 6.

Ramos, who recorded her third victory as a Wildcat, crossed the finish line with a 4K time of 13:33.91, which was good enough for first place and a 27 second win over the nearest competitor. The conditions were favorable on Saturday, but Ramos prevailed on the sloppy R.A.F.T Golf Course helping the women’s team to a first place overall team finish.

With the honor, Ramos now has two runner of the week awards with her first one coming last season after the Woody Green meet in Lincoln, Neb.

The Wildcats have a week off before traveling to Lincoln, Neb., for the Woody Greeno Invit. on Sep. 20.
