May 16, 2003 MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State Director of Athletics Tim Weiser announced today the promotion of Ben Boyle to the position of Assistant Athletics Director for Communications. In his expanded role, Boyle will coordinate the athletic department's public relations efforts, while supervising the sports information and communications departments. He will retain responsibility for corporate sponsorship sales and for managing the Wildcat television productions, including K-State's third-tier television package, the football and basketball JumboTron productions and the Bill Snyder, Jim Wooldridge and Deb Patterson television shows. "We're pleased to reward Ben with this promotion and added responsibility of coordinating our public relations initiatives," Weiser said. "His loyalty and hard work on behalf of K-State are an example of the type of individual who makes our department successful." Boyle, in his 14th season at Kansas State, has spent the last seven years as Director of Radio/TV Communications. Prior to that appointment, he served five years as Sports Information Director and two years as an assistant sports information director. He has also been the play-by-play voice for Kansas State's television package since 1994 and the color analyst on the men's basketball radio network since 1991. -ksu- |
