IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference released its 2012 Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll on Wednesday with a total of 220 Kansas State student-athletes making the list. The conference recognizes all student-athletes at its member institutions during each semester with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Of the 220 K-State student-athletes recognized for their academic excellence, 31 registered a GPA of 4.0 in the fall semester. K-State, which has ranked No. 1 in the Big 12 in graduation rate for all student-athletes four of the last six years, has placed 200 or more student-athletes on the honor roll for 10 straight semesters.

The rowing and football teams led all Wildcat athletic teams with 47 and 39 honorees, respectively, on the honor roll. Other total student-athletes on the honor roll include women’s track (28), equestrian (24), baseball (19), men’s track (18), volleyball (14), men’s basketball and men’s golf (8), women’s basketball (7), women’s golf (5) and women’s tennis (3).

The 31 Wildcats named to the list with a perfect 4.0 GPA in the semester include: Anthony Cantele (football), Courtney Cook (volleyball), Kynsey Creel (rowing), Sierra Cuda (rowing), Elizabeth DeMars (rowing), Allison Dorau (rowing), Roman Fields (football), Glenn Gronkowski (football), Ethan Hammes (football), Logan Haug (football), David Klaudt (men’s golf), Collin Klein (football), Ivana Kubickova (women’s tennis), Kathleen Ludwig (volleyball), Annelle Meals (women’s track), Samantha McCloud (rowing), Zach Nemechek (football), Petra Niedermayerova (women’s tennis), Tyler Norris (men’s golf), Julia Nyiro (women’s track), Logan O’Dea (football), Kara Omo (rowing), Ian Patterson (football), Sarah Pennington (rowing), Haley Pitko (women’s track), Miranda Rickel (rowing), Brian Rohleder (men’s basketball), Carlos Roman (men’s track), Erika Schiller (women’s track), Kelly Thomson (women’s basketball), Ariana Thompson (rowing), Kyle Wait (men’s track), Abigail Weaver (rowing), Stanton Weber (football), Kyle Weldon (men’s golf) and Daniel Wood (men’s golf).

K-State saw 17 current or former student-athletes earn degrees in fall 2012 commencement ceremonies last month. Highlighting the 17 graduates were nine members of the football team, two each from baseball, equestrian and rowing and a member of the women’s track team and volleyball team.

In addition, a total of 20 Wildcat student-athletes earned Academic All-Big 12 recognition in football, volleyball and cross country this fall.
